UK timber company achieves record sales

Timber firm, M&M Timber, based in Kidderminster, has announced that its sales rose 40% in December after it launched its range of micronized preserved timber.
The preservation technology was developed by Osmose and has been integrated into the timber in M&M’s MicroPro range. M&M specializes in supplying materials for garden furniture, outdoor play equipment, fencing and landscaping.
Almost immediately after launching the new range, large contracts were drawn up with major fencing and agricultural suppliers and the range has proved a genuine money-spinner.
The sales follow the firm's £200,000 investment in a timber drying kiln, in preparation for the treatment process. M&M has also announced additions to its workforce in response to the new range.
Nigel Poyner, M&M’s managing director, says the MicroPro range will have a “major influence” on the firm’s future market gains, and thinks the extra investment is worth it, “there is no doubt the current economic climate will present us all with challenges but we have to be prepared for the future and despite the uncertainties we have continued with our long-term investment programme.”
M&M's 2008 annual turnover figures, when released, are expected to reach a company all-time high of around £6 million.
